In India where most of the bank employees comes from SC and ST.because of the reservation system they doesnot need to top or qualify for any thing. Thats why they domistakes,they even cant write name.
But i think Citibank NRI service also taking reserve candidates.when i open acount they was unable to correct enter my tel number and adress from application form. They cheque which i send to deposit in nre account went in nro account.
you get n number of phone calls before opening acount,but once you open,you gone nobody will response to your messages.
Apart from this that big scam open a account u will get don CD.

Does anyone know what other major multi-national baks operate in India and which ones are the best in service? Also, Does anyone know email addresses of the top manangement in CitiNRI? I completely agree. Its been 10 days I call everyday and I get new person on 1800CITINRI and I will have to explain everything again. They have technical problem in registering your US Bank account for remittance and they don’t want to look into that. Its been so many days I am not able to transfer money. The account itself is waste if I can not transfer money.
The customer service *&*&^^%&^ ….Its the worst horrible customer service I have ever seen. Everytime they say they will arrange call back and the person vanishes.
God I am closing the account.

The problem is that the employees are not trained at all to foreign standards (NRI’s are spoiled to elite customer service levels after living in USA or Gulf), this is why so many mistakes are made such as basic need of transcribing and application correctly onto a computer screen or the ability to solve a problem. CITINRI is no better then a sweat shop using real cheap labor and expect NRI’s to deposit their dollars and pounds so they can make money on the float.
I suggest using smaller banks such as http://www.indusind.com/
or regional banks, ofcourse do your own due diligence and never rely on information posted on the internet. I have yet to find a decent service bank. If you know some please post a list on this website.

CITIBANK NRI thinks that by offering DON dvd you will open an account now they have new scheme for offering new CRICKET dvd. What a joke !!!!!!
They believe that NRI needs thses DVD, instead of producing these stupid dvd’s spend that marketing dollars on training and systems build a better website and build a bettr call center. employ good qualified employees not bottom of the barrel. Very SAD……….

I called the 1-800 number and asked them why it is. The moron who answered says, they discovered it just that day and will be fixed in two days. It has been like that for ever itseems. Then he insisted that dont waste my time waiting for a good fillable form to be on their website and to print it out and hand fill it and mail it.
Because he knows there is no one who can fix it on their side.
Their ID on the caller ID some times reads ” unknown” and some times somethign else.
If we dont answer they shoot an email.

They made a spelling mistake for the name of a person on a NRI Cheque that I had issued, and since this was for a real estate purchase, I needed the correct spelling on the statement. They expressed their inability to change the name on the statement, so I have asked them to send me a photo copy of my cheque. It’s been 5 months and more than 10 calls and over 3 hours of calling, the photocopy has not reached me, despite they agreeing that it was their mistake!! Each call to them lasts 15-20 minutes and each time I have to state 5 proof of my credentials. One of the customer services rep even tried to explain to me what a nominee is for an account… Get a life man!
I opened a ICICI NRI & NRO account. Leaving this one open till the land deal is closed.
i’ve had very similar experiences with ICICI NRI accounts. looks like all these banks just want you to open an account and excpect nothing from them. i’d suggest never to open an acct with ICICI BAnk.

As per my experience, 85% Regional Managers do not have manners/courtesy to return back the customers who call their offices here USA (particulary NY). To make any appointements if we need it takes 2 to 3 days to reach them on their phones. So, the citinri should give an email address also to each RM here and other countries, so that they can keep good relation .
